This video is a good summary of the issues facing the Anglican church. I totally agree with the conservative side, simply because it is the most faithful to God’s revelation in the Bible. As soon as we pick and chose what to believe, the power of the message falters. If the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, then we aren’t at liberty to accept some as truth and some as musings. I can’t believe that God, being who He is, would only inspire parts of the Bible. Either it’s totally ‘God-breathed’, or none of it is.

 That doesn’t mean we are to unintelligently pluck out verses. It requires deep study. We have to pray about our understanding. The many writers of the Bible each came from their own time, their own culture. That can lead to misunderstandings that we need to guard against.
